“Surreal Caltagirone blue”

Raffaele Rinaldi and Guido Daniele This photograph belongs to the “Paint Beauty” series. It was taken in August 2020 in Palermo, in collaboration with the great artist Guido Daniele. A Sicilian woman, in contact with an ancient Caltagirone bowl, takes on its color and decoration, in a chameleon-like way. The shot took 8 hours of work. A layer of white color with the airbrush for the white background and then the decoration was created with the brush. Finally a layer of Vaseline for the shiny effect of the Sicilian majolica.
